City Church has been meeting for twenty years and we have a large number of students from Aston Uni, Birmingham Uni, Birmingham City Uni and University College Birmingham who’ve made us their home. Our belief as a church is that a life-changing relationship with God comes through His word. That is why we put the Bible at the centre of all we do including our student ministry.
Immediately after the 6pm service we have our student meeting called StudentPlus. StudentPlus is our student small group where we look at the Bible, pray and eat pizza. We want you to grow to love and enjoy God more and more, that’s why we look at the Bible together. StudentPlus is also the place where we can share life and belong to each other as we hear testimonies, pray for each other and generally look out for each other.
We hope you will feel at home at City. After all, church is about being part of a family. One of the best ways to do this is by being ‘adopted’ by someone in the church family, often an older couple or a family. This involves getting to know them as you go round for a meal at least once a term.To get involved with this, tick the 'student adoption' box on the Welcome Card, or speak to Susan.
At the end of January, students are invited to go away together for a few days to the lovely Shropshire countryside to relax, get to know each other better, and hear God speak through His word in talks and seminars.
After exams are done in the summer term we head away on the guys’ and girls’ getaways to relax together for a few days. The getaways are often the highlight of the year for students and are a great opportunity to form new friendships and to deepen others while reading through and discussing a Christian book together. We’ll relax in the Worcestershire countryside with plenty of time for sport, films, games and delicious meals together.
