Church Pastors
Neil and Jane Powell
Neil is married to Jane and they have a son, Rufus. Neil is involved with student work, heading up the Birmingham local area action group and evangelism. Neil and Jane co-lead the Shenley Fields Road homegroup
Hugh Thomson
Hugh works for City Church. He heads up our Serve The World action group. Hugh also teaches the bible regularly in Africa, and with Christian Medical Fellowship.
Church Workers
Laurie Fearon
Laurie is a deacon and is our Church Manager and Treasurer. Laurie is married to Sue, who is a deacon and has responsiblity for Child Protection.
Annie Leggett
Annie is a deacon and works with students and women of all ages in the church and runs our "Christianity Explored" groups. She also co-leads the Gordon Road homegroup.
John 'Jonti' Taylor
Jonti is a deacon and is married to Fiona. He is our male Student Worker and is involved in organising StudentPlus, along with Miriam. Before coming to Birmingham, Jonti and Fiona studied at Nottingham University, and were then Apprentices at St Helen's Bishopgate.
Miriam Pike
Miriam is a deacon, and used to be a Birmingham student. She has now returned to the city to serve students at City Church. She is involved in organising StudentPlus, along with Jonti, and loves helping female students in the church to know, love and serve Jesus.
David and Valerie Hornsby
David and Valerie Hornsby are deacons and International student work co-ordinators. They come from a background of work with Scripture Union and with Christians in Romania. They were TEFL teachers at the Baptist Seminary in Bucharest and have run camps for students and young people in Romania and England.
Joel Daffurn
Joel graduated from the University of Birmingham with a degree in History. He enjoys international cuisine, cups of tea, films, football, visiting new places and the occasional visit to the gym.
Ministry Trainees
Chris Tilt
Chris graduated from University of Exeter with a degree in computer science. Last year he worked in London with computers in schools in London. Chris enjoys jogging, cycling and procrastinating
John Rochfort
John is starting his second year living in Birmingham. He enjoys sampling Birmingham Baltis, walking and playing squash.
Iona Shepherd
Iona has recently graduated from the University of Birmingham with a degree in Psychology, and has been part of City Church for three years. She enjoys travelling, watching films and has recently started learning the Japanese martial art Aikido.
Phil Swinburn
Phil studied Industrial Product Design at Aston University. He has been coming to City Church for 3 years. Phil enjoys getting involved in most sports, his favourites being skiing, cricket, golf, and recently rugby. He also enjoys art and design.

Doug and Sarah are part of the Pastoral Support Team. Doug also chairs our employment committee.

Richard and Yvonne are part of the Pastoral Support Team.
Alex Pichler-Tennenberg
Alex is chair of the Serve The World mission support group.
Mike Tresham
Mike is married to Catherine, and is our deacon responsible for the music at the Church.
James Butler
James is married to Claire , and is our deacon responsible for Sunday School
