One of City Church’s ministries is that some of its members run a football club which competes in the West Midlands Christian Football League.
Our team comprises Christians and non-Christians and plays it home games at Rowheath Pavilion, Heath Road, Bournville, Birmingham.
The team’s mission statement is to “enjoy competitive football in a supportive Christian team playing to win, and at the same time respecting the Christian ethos of the League and the Club, as well as respecting our opponents, officials and team mates.”
Last season we finished 4th in the league and won the League Cup. We are hoping to build on that success in the 2010/11.
City Church F.C. now has a website www.clubwebsite.co.uk/citychurch so please visit it and keep a track of our progress.
Please do pray for the team, and maybe even come along to one of our games and you’ll see that competitive football can be played without constant swearing and cheating.
